FORNO California AB 1200 Statement

At FORNO we take product safety seriously and strive to comply with all laws applicable to our products. FORNO products are made from the highest quality materials and are tested to rigorous safety standards. The cookware products identified here comply with relevant limits and rules established by the federal Food and Drug Administration and the European Union, including the relevant requirements of Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations governing the safe use of product components in direct contact with food.

California’s AB 1200, Health & Safety Code Section 109010 et seq., requires manufacturers of certain cookware to make disclosures about whether various chemicals are intentionally added to the products’ food contact components and handles. AB 1200 is a California only law. Starting in 2023, manufacturers are required to identify on their websites cookware sold in California containing one or more “intentionally added” chemicals from certain designated lists. Starting in 2024, manufacturers are also required to identify those chemicals on the product labels of cookware sold in California except where the cookware products do not contain packaging or labeling.

AB 1200 defines “Cookware” to mean items used to prepare, dispense, or store food, foodstuffs, or beverages: pots, pans, skillets, grills, baking sheets, baking molds, trays, bowls, and cooking utensils. “Intentionally added” means that the manufacturer has intentionally added the chemical to the product and the chemical has a functional or technical effect in the product. Certain FORNO accessories fall within the definition of cookware under AB 1200. The tables in this web page identify the FORNO cookware containing certain listed chemicals sold in California for which the website disclosure is required.
